What is NORAS?

NORAS is the National Online Recruitment Audience Survey. Established in 2002, NORAS provides you with independent and objective data so that you can easily compare the audiences of different job boards and choose the job board with the audience that best matches your recruitment needs. Choosing the job board with the right audience will maximise applications from the right candidates and reduce irrelevant applications.

Which job boards participate in NORAS?

A full list of job boards that have participated in NORAS from 2002 – 2008 can be found here.

What does NORAS tell me?

NORAS includes two pieces of information

Combining these two pieces of data can tell you how many candidates (that match your specific requirements) each site can offer you. For example site A might have 100,000 Unique Users and site B 75,000 Unique Users. However 10% of site A’s users meet your criteria whereas site B has 20% of users that meet that criteria. Consequently site B delivers more relevant candidates, 15,000 compared to site A’s 10,000.

How can I use this information?

You can use NORAS every time you have a recruitment need to assess if any of the job boards taking part in NORAS have the right candidates for you.

How can I access the information in NORAS?

You need to register in order to download the free results booklet. Once you’ve registered you can also use NORAS interactive – an online tool that calculates how many matching candidates each site can offer.

Who supports NORAS?

NORAS is supported by key industry bodies because of the contribution it makes to supplying the recruitment industry with independent and objective data.
